Why dropping Gerrard a blessing in disguise for Liverpool?
Brendon Rodgers has dropped Gerrard on the bench for Saturday's Premier League game at Anfield against Stoke City but he was unaware that it was 16 years since the day Gerrard made his Liverpool debut against Blackburn Rovers.
"I wasn't aware it was 16 years since his debut until I got into the changing room and saw the programme," Rodgers said after the match.
"I felt quite bad when I looked at the program - there was about 20 pictures in there of him!"
Brendan Rodgers is hoping the 1-0 victory over Stoke City at Anfield will help and get confidence back in to his squad
"But Steven's a player who is very much a team player, and a great guy and always plays a part."
